Steven J. Cochlan has been serving executives and
directors of companies, large and small, in diversified industries since
1983. Regarded as a pioneer in the design, implementation and financing
of nonqualified executive benefit plans, Steve founded Bank Consulting
Group, Inc. in February 2000 and serves as its President and Chief Executive
Officer. BCG was created to focus specialized expertise on the executive
benefit needs of the banking industry.
Steve began his professional career as a certified public accountant
with Price Waterhouse. Consistently seeking new challenges, he
joined Clark/Bardes Inc., where he quickly emerged as one of its
top producers, and a driving force in the development of innovative
approaches to recruit, retain and reward executives, directors,
and other key employees. Steve's reputation for innovation and
his consistent focus on the welfare of his clients resulted in
a strong corporate following. Many of these companies remain clients
to this day.
During 1989, Steve and three other business associates purchased
Clark/Bardes, Inc. Steve's enthusiasm, fueled by his desire to
serve clients, helped the business grow rapidly and Steve's ownership
in Clark/Bardes eventually exceeded 20%. The company's appetite
for growth through acquisitions led to an initial public offering
in 1998. About that time, it became evident that Steve's philosophy
on conducting business was different than the philosophy of Clark/Bardes
Inc.'s new management. Thus, he set out to build an organization
having a vision in concert with his own - a consulting organization
that would be known not only for the quality of its services, but
also for the personal knowledge and service of its clients by consultants
with leading-edge systems and expertise.
Bank Consulting Group has a full complement of professional consulting
staff, all of whom have Big Five tax and accounting experience
or extensive background in delivering nonqualified executive benefit
services to companies of all sizes. All are committed to Steve's vision
of delivering professional services without equal in the marketplace,
especially designing plans tailored to the needs of
each client - plans that enhance shareholder value and
serve to create personal capital for corporate executives, outside
directors,
and other hard to replace, talented people.
